Bamboo is a participatory performance that unravels the fragile threads of our connection to pre-capitalistic forms of existence, it appeals to the potential of intimacy, curiosity and individual will to invite people back to awareness and remembrance.

It was an attempt to create a physical connection between people living in the city of Taipei and the mountains of Taroko, which used to be home to the Truku tribe. In the 80s, the mountains were turned into a National Park, forcing the tribe to abandon their way of life and adapt into capitalist society. Ania stayed with the Truku tribe at the outskirts of the mountain, listening to their stories and developing a personal relationship with them.
