Bamboo is a performance that unravels the fragile threads of our connection to dying forms of existance, it appeals to the potential of intimacy, curiosity and individual will to invite people back to awareness and remembrance.

It was an attempt to create a physical connection between people living in Taipei and the mountains of Taroko, as well as creating a poetic space where grief was shared.

Created as a part of the Tree Tree Tree Person II Art Residency in Taiwan, 2017.

I sew somebody's clothes to a blue thread, whilst humming a Taroko song. One end is sewed to their clothes, they can't see the other end. I keep them company while they follow the thread around the city until they find the other end. They choose.
